This also makes them much easier to wash, providing the solution to families with children. Most hollow fiber duvets will survive washing on a semi-regular basis without it destroying their structure and altering their performance in terms of the warmth they can provide.


 Hollow Fiber constructions do not last forever, though, and over time their condition will deteriorate. Some people naturally choose to replace their duvet on a regular basis, so this is not a problem. For those who are not inclined to regular replacement, it is important to remain aware of the fact that a hollow fiber duvet which sees daily use will likely need to be replaced every 5-10 years.

A classic hollow fiber is usually an even blend of the normal polyester hollow fibers and a more spiral shaped, springy fiber structure which adds bounce and helps to make the duvet appear plump all over.
